TORONTO, ON, October 7, 2015 – Gambles Ontario Produce Inc. (GOPI), a leading fresh produce wholesaler/distributor, announces it has entered into a partnership agreement with Distribution Canada Inc. (DCI), a buying group for Independent Canadian Grocers, as their preferred and only endorsed produce vendor in Canada.
“As one of the largest produce suppliers to the independent retail trade in Ontario, we are excited in partnering with DCI to further service our independent customers”, says Tom Kioussis, vice president sales & marketing at Gambles. “We are huge supporters of small retail operators. Fresh, just-in-time products serviced on a daily basis is a key component to their success. We believe Gambles aligns well with the DCI Member group”, adds Tom.

The original roots of Gambles date back to the turn of the century. The present-day company was formed in 2002 through a merger of two companies: Gambles Produce and the Ontario Produce Company.Today, Gambles is an industry leader in the produce wholesale sector, carrying the largest assortment of fresh fruits and vegetables in the province of Ontario. We operate out of a 65,000 ft2 distribution facility in addition to 35,000 ft2 of selling/storage space out of the Ontario Food Terminal market in Toronto.
About DCI
Distribution Canada Inc. was formed as a buying group for Independent Canadian Grocers in 1981 and has since grown to include independent grocers, small chains, wholesalers/distributors, and C-Store chains.
